#1) I write for your audiences while establishing your credibility and earning trust.
The first question I’m going to ask is, “Who is your primary target audience?” I know how to tailor content to appeal to audiences ranging from tech-savvy professionals to fact-driven engineers to capricious consumers. I also write content search engines love.
I help you establish your authority in your niche industry, build credibility with your audience and earn their trust. My goal is to help you build and maintain long-term relationships with your customers.
Regardless of the type of content — web, blogs, email, white papers — it should always engage readers and benefit them in some way.
#2) I help you (or your clients) create your voice.
I’ll ask, “How do you (as in your brand) want to be known?” Reliable, knowledgeable, creative but not eccentric? Conservative and trustworthy yet versatile? Sophisticated, innovative, inviting but not pretentious? You get the idea! I’ll help you identify your voice and craft it so it appeals to your target audience.
(If you were to ask me that question, I would answer, “intelligent, professional, curious, energetic — but not conventional!)"
#3) I write content that inspires your readers to take action.
You can have the greatest product, service or cause, but if your content doesn't inspire and motivate readers to take action — sign a petition, click a link, opt-in, share, make a purchase — it doesn't matter.
My content makes an emotional connection with your readers — solves a problem, excites, entertains, educates, inspires — and benefits them in some way.
#4 People like stories. I know how to write stories.
My story is I went back to school after taking time off to raise kids. I earned a B.A. in journalism, graduating with a 4.0 GPA. I also have a B.A. in English. As an English major, I learned how to write grammatically correct, properly punctuated, descriptive passages about other writers’ stories.
As a journalism major, I learned how to research, find unique angles and write compelling, informative, succinct stories about people, services, places and businesses. Now I write my clients' stories.
#5) I have recent, relevant experience in writing content for clients in the travel, health and wellness and culinary arts industries. I have prior experience writing content for a digital marketing firm.
I write regularly for multiple clients in a freelance role. I suggest topics and extensively research before I write. I helped a start-up digital marketing company transform into one that creates consistently high-quality content for their clients. I wrote copy for websites, landing pages, blogs, white papers, social media and marketing materials, including email campaigns and working with images. I’ve also served as its only editor, so few things were published without passing across my screen.
I use a variety of software and communication tools including MS Office, WordPress, Infusionsoft, InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat, Weebly, Google Docs, Dropbox, Skype, Slack, Go to Meeting and more.
#6) I have an unwavering professional work ethic and don't miss deadlines.
I consistently deliver exceptional work. "Neither rain, nor snow, nor heat nor gloom of night" prevents me from meeting deadlines! I also happen to truly care about using my talents to help you (or your clients) achieve your content goals.
I can work independently with little supervision— but I like people too, so I find collaborating with others to deliver top quality work a lot of fun!
I have more than 25 years of professional work and life experiences, making me a versatile, informed and resourceful writer and editor.
#7) I have a 112-lb. Bernese mountain dog & a 70-lb. German Shepherd
OK, maybe this isn’t a reason why you need me writing content for you. However, going anywhere with them is like traveling with celebrities!
Why? Because they attract so much attention and adoration — so for that reason, I thought I’d throw them in just in case you want to meet them. I also love to travel, scuba dive, surf, sail, stand-up paddleboard, snowboard, bike, read and run (OK, I don’t love to run, but I do it for my mental and physical health). I also enjoy working with teens & young adults and substitute teach for Jeffco high schools.
